Criminología verde: Lavado de vida silvestre desde la legislación y las autoridades ambientales en México
Resumen
El objetivo del estudio es identificar métodos que favorecen el lavado de especies presentes en el contenido de la ley y las acciones de inspección en México. El contenido de leyes y reglamentos en materias de vida silvestre y temas forestales fueron analizados. Además, se hicieron entrevistas a inspectores que aplican la ley y trabajadores de centros de cría y venta de vida silvestre. Entre los resultados, se identificaron una variedad de métodos que pueden ser utilizados para introducir en el mercado legal ejemplares y productos ilegales. La legislación, estrategias de gestión e inspección aportan al lavado de vida silvestre y especies forestales. Una limitante del estudio fue el hecho de no poder entrevistar a todos los inspectores. Legalmente, el lavado esta más asociado con dinero, poco se sabe y estudia el lavado de especies. El lavado de vida silvestre y especies forestales aporta a la sobreexplotación de especies y pone en riesgo la conservación de la biodiversidad. Pretende declarar especies, sus partes y derivados ilegales como legales. Busca ocultar el origen ilegal de las especies para obtener documentos que demuestren la legalidad. Resulta necesario tipificar el lavado de especies de manera que permita fortalecer la legislación ambiental en México.
